Annette Funicello did not only sing or act, but also acted. She was best known for her role as one of the first "Mouseketeers" on the 'Mickey Mouse Club.' When she was a teen, she began her career as a singer and was renowned for her smash hits "Tall Paul" and "Pineapple Princess.' Born and raised in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy teenager. To make her name in the entertainment business she started to perform and play. She gained fame in the 1950s when she played the role of "Mouseketeers". Annette was able to shed her Disney identity when she became an adult, and started acting in adult roles. Annette was renowned as one of the very first actors who initiated the "beach party" category. She appeared in films such as "How to Stuff a Wild Bikini as well as 'Pajama Party' and 'Beach Parties.'
